Austin Humane Society - Pet Loss Support Group
Pet Loss Support Group
When you lose a special friend, we understand your grief.
For many of us, pets are cherished members of the family.
When a pet is lost - due to disease, accident, disappearance, or euthanasia - we mourn their passage. People often experience sadness, denial, guilt, anger, and depression. In time, most of us find acceptance and healing. However, some people may wish to seek support to help them through this grieving process.
The PET LOSS SUPPORT GROUP provides a safe and caring environment to help people through this experience. In this group, you will find comfort and understanding and be sharing your feelings of grief with others experiencing a similar loss.
The group is facilitated by Elizabeth Warren, a registered Veterinary Technician and a long time volunteer at AHS. Sessions are held on the last Monday of every month, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Austin Humane Society, at 124 W. Anderson Lane.
Sessions are free of charge. Participants may attend as many sessions as desired and no appointment is necessary.
